UPL: Bamweyana Left Unhappy With His Team’s Performance Despite A Win

Maroons FC head coach Douglas Bamweyana remained disgruntled with the way his side performed despite a 2-0 away win against Tooro United on Tuesday evening.

Solomon Walusimbi and Steven Mukwala scored for Maroons in both halves of the game to give the visitors surprising three points at waterlogged Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku following heavy downpour before the game.

“The performance was poor although we won; the pitch was drenched which stopped us from playing good football,” Bamweyana said after the game before adding.

“It was an ugly game entirely dominated by aerial balls, but we showed more control over the game.”

“But we are happy because we got the three points needed on the day, but the condition of the pitch didn’t allow us to enjoy the game,” he added.

However, the former SC Villa head coach claims that the win is a clear indication that his side is going forward only that they need to do things in a consistent manner.

“Today’s away win shows that our team can do something but we need to do this on a regular basis,” he noted.

Maroons will host Bright Stars at Prisons Grounds in Luzira in their next league game on Saturday September 14th.
